Founded in 1969 under the name of Hanshin Machinery Mfg. Co., Hanshin was the first company to manufacture the piston type compressor in 1970, vane and screw compressors in the 1980s and the oil free screw compressor in 1983. In 1987, Hanshin became a public listed company and became the first company to produce compressors for nuclear power plants in 1999.
